It's time to finish off our Pop Alt Rock adventure, which I admit took a few different turns along the way.
I will end the adventure on an Alt Rock anthem that still endures in the hearts and minds of the masses to this very day. Such was the impact of The Killers, Mr Brightside, that it made it into the Triple J Hottest 100 of All time (2009) a mere five years after its release!
Looking at the company it kept on that list, I'll got out on a limb and guess that Gen X was very well represented in the voting, along with a smattering of the early Gen Z'ers.
In the UK, according to Wikipedia it also earned the titles of:
- No. 1 biggest song to never make actual No. 1 in the weekly singles charts
- Longest charting single of all time (408 weeks)
