Gig Report time from AJ and my latest escapade to see Sepultura in their final world tour fling, of which they were gracious enough to bring to the land of Orstraya!
So, when tickets were released, AJ and I thought 'why the hell not?!?'. Originally billed at the Northcote Theatre, where I'd never seen a band, the at capacity venue was last minute swapped to The Forum to give everyone a lil' bit extra breathing space. Now I can't technically remember the last band I saw at the forum, nor can I remember if I've actually ever seen a band at The Forum!?!?
Be that as it may, I am upfront in confessing that my exposure to Sepultura was primarily off the back of the early commercial success and solid featuring on every Rage metal playlist (the Territory film clip is imprinted on my brain). However, post Sepulnation, I started to drift off into other areas and had not really followed up where things had gotten to. So, to prep for the gig, I took the opportunity to go on a bit of a learning discovery to check out the last 20 years contributions, and I can safely report there are some very good 'lil metal ditties' to be found!
So, for today's (and probably in lieu of the next couple of days) post, check out a collection of new stuff, old stuff, but most importantly, 100% pure Sepultura stuff.
