Exploring the 'Black' #3

This band was a recommendation from a work colleague about 10 years ago. We'd got to talking about musical styles we were into over drinks, and that ultimately lead to various comparisons being made across genres and time periods. Both being mid-30's tech-geek dad's, I was expecting a fairly good overlap in the Venn diagram, although he had spent many years working in the US and UK.

Australian bands came up, and I'd suggested that he should check out Brisbane outfit 'Dead Letter Circus' who I was listening to a fair bit at the time; and this new band 'Twelve Foot Ninja' that I'd just stumbled across (note: both of these bands are pretty much guaranteed to get a feature themselves at some point!)

He countered with a trip back into what felt like "80's Power Metal Revival" - and a suggestion for one Axel Rudi Pell. The band name sounds more like a spare part for a Car's differential (yep, I'm no mechanic!), but they've been in my collection since that day, and every now and again when the 'anthemic metal' mood hits me, it gets broken out with O.G. Iron Maiden, Helloween and a bunch of others...

So, today's exploration is into the 'Ghost in the Black' ...
