This has to be one of my favourite tracks from this album, which itself, is one of my favourite albums of all time!
And then when Butch Vig walks you through how they created that 'thick' guitar sound using countless (well ... 5) overdubs, you appreciate it even more!
As I've now experienced myself, overdubbing sounds VERY cool as you begin to pan and blend different sounding amps and guitars. But you have to be extremely tight on your playing, and if you're like me that means many, many takes just to get the 5-6 that 'fit together' the best. On the positive side, once I've got them, I can re-amp them to my hearts' content!
