Blast from the past with Aussie Nu-Metal 7-stringed sludgy goodness, Superheist!
Can't remember exactly which year but I'm going guess it was likely 4th year, so circa February 2001. The venue was the La Trobe Uni Union Hall - a big room - this time unfortunately with not a big number of metal heads to fill it. It was one of those gigs where if it was a 200 person bar, it would have had a completely different vibe. But in an auditorium that seats 1300, let's just say that you could see the tumbleweeds in the pit.
I suspect this was also the same gig that featured the almighty Henry Rollins and the Rollins Band! Back in the day where tickets were circa $25 - meaning you chose whether to buy the CD or to see the band live. Is this where us Gen X ers start to sound like Boomers with our 'back in the day' quips?!? 😟
Again, in a time where security was one a single dude making sure you didn't steal off with the bands stuff, you could also easily get backstage for the band to sign their CD for you. Probably best not to bring the burnt copy of your mate's original though for that purpose...
