I've been a little lax in the posting the last week + one day; but I'm about to make up for it with a behemoth haul of metal goodness!
Had the opportunity to catchup with 'my bestie' AJ and indulge in some 'aural amusement' at the Kittie and Jinjer gig in Melbourne at Festival Hall. Once again, have to call out that it was yet another 'very chill and respectful crowd'... metalheads are truly the best people on the planet!
Transporting us back 25 years, Kittie showed us why they have endured where others have long since faded. Once you've acquainted yourselves with today's posted tunes, I highly recommend checking out their Origins/Evolution documentary for a behind the scenes look (the good the bad and the ugly) as they reflected on their whirlwind experience back in 2017.
Jinjer then absolutely showed us why they are considered one of the best hardcore acts on the planet! Tatiana's voice is an enigma - if you didn't know better, you'd swear there are two vocalists. Her ability to go from full bore guttural roar to angelic harmonies defies belief (although I did provide an example of this back in the earlier Dad Friendly Festival post). This is the sort of stuff that you 'groove' with rather than trying to follow the beat directly (for fear of throwing your kneck and back out ... we're no longer flexible fella's in our 20's... I probably never was to think of it). But there is definitely a 'method' to what appears to be staccato madness and once you lock onto it, you'll find yourself bopping along incessantly.
Without further ado ...
