We're here. The final post in our little exploration into 80's Oz Pub Rock classics. So, I thought it only fitting to sign it off with something from Barnsey's back catalog.
Technically the song was not written by Barnsey and is in fact about Grafton (northern NSW) according to the article on wikipedia. The reference I'm most aligned to though is the Cold Chisel cover band bearing the same name, who frequented the Normandy Hotel in Clifton Hill during the late 90's / early 00's when 'inner suburban live music' was still a thing. The same hotel at which my better half pulled beers as a side hustle, post-graduation, pre-career job. Lots of funny stories - none of which will be published here to protect the not-so-innocent.
