What to post, what to post? I did a stocktake the other day as I was writing the reboot / first post for 2026 to work out where I was in my journey to post a song from every Artist that I have an Album for in my personal collection. From that I deduced that I am (approximately) half-way through the process. Lucky you!
So that then begged the question, should I:
a) continue to rely on the random-o-meter to find me a song for each post, skipping songs from those Artists that I've already posted for.
b) rely on the random-o-meter to find me a song for each post BUT limit the songs by removing all songs from the Artists that I've already posted for.
c) retire the random-o-meter, list the artists remaining, and manually pick a song for each post on a just-in-time post basis.
d) write a python script that does c) magically for me, keeping track of the results from each run, and thus removing the manual effort to prune results that overlap with previous posts.
e) vibe code d) with AI cos I don't really want to spend too much time mucking about with all this - it's about listening to sic tunes - not getting bogged down in tech admin!
f) use 'actual intelligence' and just list the artists remaining, do some thinking about whether there may be some 'affinity' groups that could create some interesting 'explorations' to post about, and then just fill around those with what's left such that the Archive playlists have a reasonable amount of chaotic randomness.
g) Channel my inner Gene Simmons and use the KISS method (No, that doesn't mean take a shot at anything that is blonde and has a pulse). Simply crack a fortune cookie and see if the universe will give me the answer.
All though we're a couple of weeks away from Lunar New Year (17th February), it's never a wrong time to crack open a cookie! Especially such a tasty one served up by the continually awesome Regurgitator!
